1) KLCI ended at all time high aided by gains in key heavyweights led by PBBANK+2.66% and PPB+3% on signs China economy are recovering. Index traded in tight 4 points range with market thinly traded before late close up of PPB, Armada and GENM ensured market closed at day's high. Market breadth was positive with advancers leading decliners 391:3069. Futures closed 1674pts (2 points premium).

4) Situationals:
NAIM+3.11% RM1.99: NAIM has bagged a RM204mil contract for the Sungai Buloh-Kajang Line of the Klang Valley Mass Rapid Transit project. In an announcement, it said the job was awarded by Gadang Engineering (M) Sdn Bhd to execute and complete package S2: construction and completion of elevated stations and other associated works at Taman Industri Sungai Buloh, PJU 5 and Dataran Sunway.
 
5) PENERGY
PENERGY wishes to inform that Petra Resources Sdn. Bhd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of PENERGY, has been awarded the contract for the Provision of Offshore Services Contract for Gumusut-Kakap Development by Sabah Shell Petroleum Company Ltd.
The contract is effective from 18 October 2012 being the date of the letter of award, and the mobilisation period / commencement of work shall be deemed as starting on the same date. No value however was revealed.
We remain positive in the O&G sector with PENERGY poised to benefit from sizeable contracts from HUC and topside maintenance work. Its new parent company Waseong should see synergistic benefits.
 
6) Market - The KLSE will be closed for Hari Raya Haji on the 26th Oct and resume trading on the Monday the 29th.
