1) KLCI was languishing in negative territory before auction time saw mark ups of IOICORP, PPB and HLFG to ensure index closed on a positive note. Regionals were weaker after China's trade grew less than economists expected with exports growing only 1% adding to signs of a deeper slowdown in China. Syed Mokhtar related stocks generated buying interest with GASMSIA+2%, TWSCORP+5%, MMC+6.5%. Market breadth turned positive with gainers edging losers 357:348. Futures closed 1641.5pts (4 points discount). 

2) Heavyweights: IOICORP+2.33% RM5.27, DIGI+0.86% RM4.71, PETGAS+0.94% RM19.32, HLFG+1.94% RM12.58, MAYBANK-0.34% RM8.92, TM-1.02% RM5.81, GENTING-0.55% RM8.97

3) DBT: SILVER 14.5mil @ RM0.10, SUNREIT 7mil @ RM1.47

4) Situationals:
TDM-8.16% RM3.94: TDM net profit for the 2QFY12 slumped 70.7% to RM9.4 million from RM32.13 million, mainly due to lower production of crude palm oil (CPO) and palm kernel (PK) and higher production costs as compared to the previous corresponding quarter.

E&O+28% RM1.90: Share price surged after an online portal reported Securities Commission (SC) will now order Sime Darby Bhd to make a general offer for E&O shares after buying a 30-per cent stake last year, say government sources. The review was made under new SC chairman Datuk Ranjit Ajit Singh. Another source was said to have confirmed the review and said the decision will be made public soon.

5) DAYA
Announced that it had entered into a MOU with UDPS. The purpose of the MOU is to jointly develop and market mobile water injection technologies and solutions to the upstream oil and gas sector.  UPDS is a process engineering and equipment packaging company providing sea water injection packages, related engineering services and water injection system management services. 

6) CMSB
After the initial MOU was signed in Feb 2008 and numerous extensions, the company and other its JV party GIIG Holdings S/B abd Pan Kingdom Investmont Co parties have mutually agreed to put the development of a steel cluster and iron ore hub project in the Samalaju Industrial Park on hold and pursue it if the gas is available and will make an appropriate announcement at that stage.

7) Market - Side ways trading on the index to continue until the release of 2Q numbers for the big caps at the end of the month.
