1) KLCI rebounded sharply as steady gains over the day by key heavyweights ensured index closed at day's high. Regionals ended mixed as investors awaits decision from FOMC meeting tonight. Airasia-2.32% topped the volume list with 100mil traded as stock recovered from RM2.82 following recent selldown. Market breadth was positive with advancers outpacing decliners 417:301. Futures closed 1618.5pts (10 points discount).

4) Situationals:
AIRPORT+3.94% RM5.54: Malaysia Airport Holdings Bhd is seen as the prime beneficiaries following announcement of a new LCC by the name of LION AIR. The new LCCT which is operational by May 2013 is expecting to start with 10 LCC flying from there. That includes Zest Airways, Lion Air, Tiger Airways, Cebu Pacific Air and AIRASIA.

During the current period to-date, it recorded an increase in gross profit margins from 27% to 32% due to better product mix. 1H numbers also boosted by current quarter profit before taxation is RM145.6 million, which is RM17.7 million higher than the preceding quarter ended 30 April 2012. This is mainly due to higher profit recognition from residential and commercial properties in Klang Valley, Penang and Johor Bahru.   
As at 31 August 2012, the Group's sales for the first ten months of the financial year totalled RM3.312 billion from existing projects and newly launched projects such as Aeropod in Sabah; KL Eco City's first residential tower; 18 Woodsville, the Group's maiden project in Singapore; and 11 Brook Residences in Penang also contributed to the strong sales performance achieved. 
Going forward, a lot of their medium term prospects will depend on the success of its 40% participation in the Battersea Power Project which has a projected GDV of 8-10bn pounds.
 
6) Market - Traders are likely to trim positions today especially if there is an initial "pop" in markets from the anticipated FOMC decision tonight and ahead of a long week with Malaysia Day falling on the 16th Sep.
