Recent announcements on
o&g finds from Petronas in deep water and marginal oilfields bode well
for small cap OSV players like Alam as it is poised to capitalize on
Petronas’ upcoming OSV tenders. Recently received letter of award from
Carigali Hess for 1 AHTs vessel indicates further need for this segment. Stock
is on the verge of a breakout to 85c, supported by its double bottom
formation at 68c with MACD having just nip upwards. Improving operating

Price has been consolidating since end Sept as quarterly
results continue to be weak dragged down by its OSV segment which is affected
by lower utilization due to monsoon season. However, believe this is an
opportune time to accumulate this name as its MACD is cutting up with
rerating catalyst in the form of new contracts possibly as soon as Jan 2013
should the RM3bn HUC and topside maintenance contract co is bidding for under
Pan Msian Cluster materializes. Penergy is the current service provider for Shell’s
Sabah/Sarawak and Petronas’ Sarawak HUC & topside maintenance contract,
which increases its chances of securing similar type of contracts in future.
Also, Penergy’s MOU with Baker Hughes to explore EOR opportunity is still
ongoing. Trades at attractive PER’13 10x–Accumulate with immediate target of
RM2.
