At current price, stock is a laggard behind
the sector gaining only 12% vs 23% of the KLCON index YTD. Price was partly
suppressed due to weaker earnings that were caused by unexpected delays in
utility relocation as well as a stop work order that was lifted following a
mishap that happened in April. Looking ahead, group is expected to see a
normalizing recovery in numbers and potential profits from the Prasarana
development venture (expected launch as early as 1h 2014). Order book of the
group of 2bil will provide earning visibility for the next 2 years along with
more potential jobs from SCORE and constructing of the Salamaju port that’s
scheduled for completion this year. Currently stock only trades at 10x PE vs
sector average of 14x; MACD still trading in positive region, volume picked
up yesterday. Trading Buy with a TP of RM0.75 based on 10X FY 14 PE.

Group is planning a regional expansion via M&A by first gaining a
foothold in Thailand and eventually to Indon, Vietnam, Singapore and
Phillipines to fully utilise the APG’s capacity by tapping into regional
bandwidth demand from Thailand and Indo-China. To recap, TdC is estimated to
have a 6% stake in the APG submarine cable which connects Malaysia directly
to Korea and Japan. With that stake, TdC is estimated to have an initial
capacity of about 3.4Tbps for sale upon APG’s completion by end-2014. Also,
Trading at only 19x for FY13; 17.3x for FY14 PE which is relatively cheap
compared to its peers of 23x on average; strong balance sheet with 250mil net
cash. BUY on growth potential and increasing demand for bandwidth in the Asia
Pacific region.
