Group
has already lined up their next upcoming high margin product which is the
optical interface sensors that are currently being used into smartphones,
tablets and gaming applications. We continue to like the group for its growth
story as well as its net profit margin that grew from 10% to 14% in FY12 and
is expected to grow to 17% in the next 2-3 years. In addition to the group’s
strong balance sheet (net cash of RM0.52sens/share), group also expects a
CAGR of 25% growth in net profit averagely for the next 3 years. Share
price topped at RM2.92 three weeks back and had fallen and bounced off the
low of RM2.31 (61.8% level) to consolidated at RM2.61. Current price is
trading at the neckline of an ascending wedge which reveals a potential
RM0.34 sen upside if it breaks above. Buying momentum could pick
up closer to its ex date for the 9 sen dividend (Ex-date: 13th of
October). We rate it a defensive buy due to its visible earnings stream and
attractive yield of 6% in current uncertain markets.

Stock
has been a laggard especially after announcing a poor set of 2Q numbers.
Furthermore the immediate catalyst to address its high debt levels was the
listing of its subsidiary, Malakoff which is now postponed to the first half
2014. Share price has consolidated around the RM2.50 level but with signs of
higher interest rates in the horizon and the high gearing the company remains
in (2.1x), a further sell down cannot be discounted with a target of RM2.30.
