Stock has broken out from an ascending
triangle formation with a minimum upside objective of RM6.20. This break-out
was confirmed by volume and the weekly MACD exhibiting a golden cross.
Coupled with the firming CPO price (currently RM2,641/mt vs last quarter
realised price of RM2,347/mt) which could increase to >RM2,800/mt due to
the current severe wet weather and the seasonally low production period of
the 1st quarter, IOICorp is a good trade for the next few months.
The demerger and listing of IOIProp by January’14 will realise the value of
its property arm and at the same time eliminates holding company discount
will be a significant additional catalyst to the IOICorp. Trading buy.

Group is another play on rising CPO prices
with its recent results showing the much reduced role of its original timber
business, and the plantation segment taking over as the main activity,
contributing 74% to group PBT. The main attraction of JTiasa is its average
palm age profile of 5.6 years, the lowest amongst the bigger plantation
players. This means the company has very strong FFB production growth
prospects. Currently only 12% of its planted area is considered as mature and
this will increase to 40% in 2 years. This also explains for the sharp drop
in PER of 19.3x in FY June’14 to PER of 11.3x for FY June’15, significantly
cheaper than the Malaysian average of 19.1x & regional average of 16.1x.
Technically, the stock is trading close to its 61.8% retracement support
(RM2.20) of its recent rally, an attractive entry level especially when it is
trading near its rising trendline. Buy
