After three consecutive years of making losses, Talam returned to the
black in its recent financial year ended Jan 31, 2014, posting a full-year
net profit of RM9.58mil on revenue of RM171.7mil, mainly due to a RM100.67mil
disposal gain of investment properties. Operationally it had completed all
unfinished houses and will continue to team up with “reputable corporations”
to develop its land bank. The company has remaining 2000 acres in
Selangor with a GDV of RM5bn. Gearing has also been brought down to more
manageable levels of 0.6 with a further RM360m assets for sale held in the
balance sheet. The share price has been on a gradual uptrend for the
past year and looks set to continue with an immediate up side of 16sen.

Under researched and under valued property developer trading around
its IPO price of RM0.85. 2/3 of its revenue is derived from property
development with the balance arising from theme park operations however
earnings are still primarily from development with theme park operations
still incurring a lot of start up cost from expansion. Has secured a further
1200 acres in the past two year to replicate their flagship theme park, Bukit
Gambang Resort City in Morib and Kuching. This could potentially add up to
RM3.5bn GDV over the next 10 years. Trading at only 7.5x PE, expect a
rerating closer to 10x with Bukit Gambang Resort City providing a steady
income stream. Buy with a target of RM1.20.
