1) The KLCI gained momentum in the 2nd half of the session to close 3 pts above parity despite the weaker US market overnight. In the regional market, SHCOMP closed flat halting a 7 day winning streak after imports unexpectedly fell, HSI is closed for the mid Autumn festival and will resume tomorrow. In the local scene, CONSTRUCTION -0.31% index continue to trend lower today as GAMUDA -0.41%, WCT -1.86%, HOHUP -4.11% weighed the index while the INDUSTRIAL index +0.27% gained attributed to strength in PCHEM +0.47%, PETGAS+0.26%, TOPGLOV +2.28%. Market breadth was negative with losers beating gainers by 420 : 399. Futures closed at 1873pts (1point discount)

 

 

2) Heavyweights : CIMB+ 0.96% RM7.32, TENAGA +0.64% RM12.54, CIMB +0.96% RM7.32, GENM +1.40% RM4.32, TM +1.10% RM6.42, MAYBANK -0.395% RM10.08, PPB -0.80% RM14.80, KLK.

 

 

3) DBT : KSTAR 21.312mil @ RM0.11 (8% PUC), ARMADA 15mil @ RM2.90 (6.5% discount), AMBANK 10.375 @ RM6.999.

 

 

4) Situational:-

 

DRBHICOM +1.35% RM2.24 - Group has spent RM500.0m to develop the all-new Proton Compact Car and will launch the PCC on September 25 at its manufacturing plant in Tanjung Malim, Perak. The PCC is not an A-segment car (1.5-litre engine and below) and it will be unveiled to stakeholders, vendors and 400 dealers at the launch.

 

 

5) DIGISTAR : announce that its wholly-subsidiary, Nielsen Ward Sdn Bhd had received a conditional approval for a Money Lending License under "Akta Pemberi Pinjam Wang 1951 (Akta 400)" via "Kementerian Kesejahteraan Bandar, Perumahan dan Kerajaan Tempatan, Bahagian Pemberi Pinjam Wang dan Pemegang Pajak Gadai" (KKB) letter dated 20 August 2014 . The approval is subject to the fulfillment of all the conditions imposed as stated in KKB's letter within three 3 months from the date of approval i.e. latest by 20 November 2014; Slightly +ve. The Business License will diversify Digistar Gorup's earnings base and is expected to contribute positively to Digistar Group's earnings for the financial year ending 30 September 2015 when NWSB commence its money lending business. 6) Market : Trading is likely to remain choppy as we continue into the week, with trading range expected between 1860-1875 points, due to lack of fresh catalysts in the market. Can expect further volume dominance from the small caps, although sign of slowing momentum in the segment is evident.
