Despite the bounce last Friday, CMS is still
17% below its last month high of RM5.50. Last week, it hit a 4-month low of
RM4.42 and is clearly a laggard in the recent broad market technical
bounce. CMS trades at attractive valuations with PER of 9.4x & 8.1x for
FY13 & FY14, and a current p/bk of 0.99x. It is a well-diversified group
& a market leader in Sarawak for its core business of cement, road
maintenance & infrastructure development, hence a prime beneficiary of
the proposed developments in Sarawak & Sabah and the SCORE initiatives.
It owns over 4,000 acres of land for property development or potential to
realise land-sale gains. An added catalyst is its 20% stake in OM Materials
Sarawak – the first ferrosilicon alloy, manganese ferroalloy & sintered
manganese ore facility in SCORE. This new venture is expected to contribute
RM80m-100m of new associate profits from 2016, representing 35-44% of FY12
profit before tax. Technically, the stock is ready with a positive crossover
last Friday. Buy

UMW (RM12.26) – is another major laggard in
the recent market rally with a bounce of 3% from its recent low of Rm11.90
versus the KLCI’s 7%. Its RSI is near the oversold zone at 34%. With the 3
major local funds of PNB, EPF & KWAP holding close to 70% of its
shareholding, UMW is expected to hold its major support zone of
RM12.20-12.00. Hence it is appropriate to accumulate the stock at current
level. Fundamentally, its current PER at 13.8x is favourable compared to its
historical 5-year average of 15.5x, and 2H13 earnings is expected to improve
from higher auto sales (new model launches) & higher utilization of the
rigs in the O&G division. Accumulate
