1) The KLCI trended higher today following the stronger US market overnight after Fed's beige book indicated that the country's economic activity is still on expansion mode ahead of the expected rate hike in Mid Sept. Regions were mixed as the NIKKEI +0.48% and STI +0.93% gained inline with the global markets while the ASX -1.44% closed lower weighed by Utilities and Telco names. TECHNOLOGY +1.32% index gained the most grounds today, namely JCY +2.40%, UNISEM +2.31%, GHLSYS +3.88%, GTRONIC +1.04% on renewed interest as the local currency weakened further to RM4.2465 against the Dollar. Market breadth was positive today as gainers outpaced losers by 577 : 213. Market futures closed at 1581 (21pts discount).

4) Situational:-
SUNWAY +2.07% RM3.45 - Sunway Bhd has rewarded its shareholders with a special dividend of 26 sen a share. It said that the dividend would go ex on Sept 30 and be paid on Oct 16. The dividend arose from the proceeds raised from the offer for sale of 398.7m Sunway Construction Bhd shares, which was a unit of Sunway Bhd - under its listing exercise on July 28.
 
HTPADU +6.66% RM0.64 - HeiTech Padu Bhd has been awarded a RM120.6m contract from the National Registration Department (JPN) for the maintenance of its Main Information and Communications Technology Business System.  The contract was for two years starting July 1, 2015. &  not expected to have any material effect on the earnings per share, dividend policy, gearing, share capital and the substantial shareholders' shareholdings of the company for the financial year ending Dec 31, 2015
 
5) SALCON
Salcon is pleased to announce that Envitech Sdn Bhd, a 60% owned subsidiary of Salcon Engineering Berhad, accepted the Letter of Award issued by Knowledge Vision Sdn Bhd for the proposed Upgrading, Rehabilitation and Expansion of Existing Sewerage Treatment Plant from 54,000PE Capacity to 134,000PE Capacity at  Hulu Langat,  The project is for 16mths commencing 10 Sept with a value of RM14.5m.
 
6) Market - Range bound btw 1580-1620pts awaiting fresh developments from particularly the US and China.
