1) The KLCI bucked the regionals to close 5.99pts above parity boosted by gains in BANKING stocks and Bluechips like UEMLAND +5.24%, GENTING +2.35%,GENM +1.54% that recovered losses after heavy profit taking last 2 days. The regional market were mostly bearish lead by NIKKEI that declined on higher YEN before the release of U.S Jobs data this weekend. PROPERTY+1.65% carried by UEMLAND +5.24%, SUNWAY +3.44%, MAHSING +2.66%; while activities start to pick up in some of the plantation names behind the rising CPO prices, RSAWIT +2.99%, KULIM +3.11%, TSH +3.44%. Market breadth was positive with gainers beating losers by 511 : 297. Futures closed 1771 (4 pts discount)

 

2) Heavyweights : MAYBANK+1.55% RM10.44, GENTING+2.35% RM10.44, CIMB+1.24% RM8.16, UEMLAND+5.24% RM3.41, GENM+1.54% RM3.94, AMBANK+1.36% RM7.41, PETDAG+2.19% RM26.10, AXIATA -0.59% RM6.70.

 

3) DBT : KNM 20.05mil @ RM0.49 (1.34% PUC), SUNWAY 10mil @ RM3.87 (0.77% PUC), BORNOIL 8.4mil @ RM0.5452 (4.21% PUC @ 17% premium), TGOFF 5.06mil @ RM0.582 (1.7% PUC, 11.8% discount)

 

4) Situational:-

 

DIALOG +0.34% RM2.95 - Share price fell to RM2.90 before recovering after Petronas president Tan Sri Shamsul Azhar Abbas said development at Rapid may slow as there is no water supply now. It is taking over the RM1bn water supply project in Pengerang, Johor, to help speed up its development. The project includes developing commercial infrastructure and underground piping for the supply of raw water to the 8,800ha Pengerang Integrated Petroleum Complex (PIPC).

 

5) PENERGY: In response to a query on the date of receipt & value of contract, Co said that the LOA for Provision of Offshore Crane Operations and Maintenance Services for Sarawak Shell Berhad ("SSB") / Sabah Shell Petroleum Co. Ltd. ("SSPC") was received on 13th March 2013. Petra Resources Sdn Bhd ("PRSB") has yet to determine the total value of the contract since the Contract is on a 'call-out' basis whereby work-orders will be issued at the discretion of the client based on a standard schedule of rates during the duration of the Contract. Contract is expected to contribute positively to the earnings per share and net assets of PENERGY Group while the gearing of PENERGY Group is not expected to be effected by it - Neutral on announcement.

 

6) Market:  The KLCI Index will be looking towards the US jobs data tonight and the JPY for leads on its direction. Barring exceptional out-of-consensus data or further strengthening of the JPY, the market is likely to trade on a positive bias within a broader consolidation phase.
