1) The KLCI saw choppy trading thruout the session today but closed in the green inline with the better US market overnight which rebounded as on-going tension in Ukraine and Middle East subsided. In the regional market, bourses were generally better as the NIKKEI+ 0.20%, HSI +0.18% and ASX +1.34% gained following optimism from the West while the SHCOMP -0.14% declined just before the release of more economic data tomorrow. In the local market, INDUSTRIAL index +0.47% gained the most grounds today boosted by PETGAS +1.78%, LAFMSIA +2.94%, CMSB +2.00%. Market breadth however, was negative with losers beating gainers by 381 : 452. Futures closed at 1847.5 (3 pts discount).

 

 

2) Heavyweights : PETGAS +1.78% RM21.70, CIMB +0.58% RM6.92, IHH +0.63% RM4.76, HLBANK +0.86% RM14.00, GENTING +0.30% RM9.95, PCHEM -0.90% RM6.60, MISC -1.64% RM6.59, DIGI -0.70% RM5.66.

 

 

3) DBT : SNTORIA 18.354mil @ RM1.1054 (4.171% PUC @ 14.4% discount), DESTINI 11mil @ RM0.65 (1.38% PUC @ 5.2% discount), SUMATEC 10mil @ RM0.51, CHINWEL 5.5mil @ RM1.38 (2.01% PUC @ 4.2% discount).

 

 

4) Situational:-

 

BJCORP +1.03% RM0.49 - Berjaya Corp Bhd is selling 15 parcels of freehold palm oil plantation land measuring 10,726 acres in Ulu Selangor to Tagar Properties Sdn Bhd for RM743.0m. The proposed transaction values the land at RM70,000 per acre. The company will set aside RM350.0m to repay borrowings, while the balance RM393.0m will be reserved for working capital.

 

 

CBIP +3.93% RM5.01 - CB Industrial Product (CBIP) has proposed a 1-for-1 bonus issue and 1-for-3 bonus issue of Warrants.  Tenure for the Warrants are 5 years. Indicative Exercise Price for the Warrants are RM2.82 which represents 20% premium to the theoretical ex-bonus price of the shares at RM2.35.

 

 

5)Tomei : Further to the announcement made on 11 August 2014, the group added that it shall hold the non-exclusive right from Royal Canadian Mint to advertise, market, promote and distribute Bullion Products in Malaysia, until terminated by either party. Tomei Holdings may retain sub-distributors for the purpose. Bullion Products include gold, silver, platinum & palladium Maple Leaf coins & gold, silver and/or platinum bullion bars and/or other bullion products made available by the Royal Canadian Mint from time to time. The Distribution Agreement is expected to contribute positively to TCB's profitability for the financial year ending 31 December 2014 ; Neutral

 

 

6) Amid optimism that geopolitical are receding, the market is expected to continue it's consolidation stage. We would subscribe to buying on weakness for the week, with strong buying support at the 1,835 level.
