TAANN (RM3.52) – upstream oil palm plantation player with a young palm
oil profile (6~ Years) in Sarawak as well as an integrated timber player that
owns timber concessions. Recent stabilisation of CPO prices and lower
inventory could see a rebound with TAANN as a strategic proxy for
momentum play. For every RM100/t change in CPO ASP, Taann’s net profit
increases by 10m which is approximately 9%. Its young plantation profile is
expected to record a double digit production growth for the next few years
increasing the group’s bottomline. Furthermore, with the current revival in
Japan stimulating higher infrastructure spending pushing better timber
demands, helping its timber division. Technically, price has breached above
the 14,25,50 MA and is currently trading just below the 100MA; more upside
should follow should the share price breaks above this level. MACD cutting
upwards, RSI picking up (57%). BUY with an immediate TP of RM4.03.
