1) The KLCI rose to an all-time high of 1894.72 before closing just below after selected heavyweights such as MAYBANK,TENAGA propelled the index towards the record level today. In the regional market, bourses were subdued as the US market closed for the long weekend; SHCOMP +0.03%, HSI -0.02%, NIKKEI -0.37%, ASX -0.11% closed flat just before the release of important China data later this week. Locally, TECHNOLOGY sector was the biggest gainers amongst the index putting up 2.11% today boosted by MPI +11.73%, UNISEM +5.19%, JCY +2.81%, GTRONIC +0.69% after several upgrades by analysts. Market breadth was positive with gainers outpacing losers by 491 : 357. Futures closed at 1894.5 (2points premium).

4) Situational:-
 
GAMUDA +2.52% RM4.88 - Share price rose after the group was reportedly the favourite to land the job as the Project Development Partner (PDP) to oversee the implementation of key components of an integrated transportation plan on Penang island. The state that is expected to issue a request for proposal (RFP) exercise next month have made it clear that only companies with a minimum RM3.0b annual turnover and a track record of 15 years can participate. Two key components of the RFP would be to build a 17.5 kilometre light rail transit (LRT) project  that connects the Komtar building to the airport and a link cutting across the island from Bayan Lepas to Tanjong Bungah.
 
 
5) SCABLE : announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Trenergy Infrastructure Sdn Bhd had on 7 July 2014 received a Letter of Acceptance from Tenaga Nasional Berhad on its Tender for the "Proposed 132kV Single Circuit Loop In/Out PMU 132/33kV Enstek from KLIA-Salak Tinggi Transmission Line Projec for a contract sum of RM14.7m. The Project shall commence immediately, i.e. 7 July 2014 and shall be completed within 448 days; +ve, project is expected to contribute positively to earnings for FY 12/14&15. A recent report suggested the group may issue up to 10% of new shares to fund the acquisitions of Universal Cable (M) Sdn Bhd (UCMB) and Leader Cable Industry Bhd (LCIB). The acquisitions would make group the single largest integrated transmission cable player in Malaysia and one of region's biggest producers of 500kV cables. It will allow SCable to tap the Peninsular Malaysia market where existing lines would have to be upgraded to prevent transmission loss. Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) is expected to spend RM1bil-RM2bil annually to upgrade the existing lines. Its current order book stands at RM756mil. Long term prospect remain in tact.
 
6) Market : The local market which held well last week, is expected to remain range bound. Technical charts suggest the long-term upward trend remains, with shorter term trend still within a range of 1,870 to 1,890. The foreign fund flow was fluctuating between net inflow and outflow last week.
