1) The KLCI closed marginally higher, inline with the stronger global market as the US market led the region higher. Regional bourses were mostly higher, SHCOMP +1.60%, NIKKEI +1.08%, HSCEI +0.80%, ASX +0.73%, STI +0.61%. TECHNOLOGY +0.91% outperformed today buoyed by JCY +2.85%, INARI+ 1.46%, UNISEM +1.91%, DNEX +3.92% , followed by INDUSTRIAL +0.73%, SIME +2.45%, MISC +1.12%, HAPSENG +1.31%, LAFMSIA +0.99%. Market breadth was positive as gainers led losers by 487 : 345. Market Futures closed at 1710 (6pts discount).
 
2) Heavyweights : SIME +2.45% RM8.78, IHH +2.18% RM6.56, PBBANK +0.53% RM18.68, IOICORP +1.85% RM4.40, GENM -2.92% RM4.31, DIGI -1.21% RM5.68, GENTING -1.47% RM7.35, AXIATA -0.77% RM6.40.
 
3) DBT : TEXCYCL 5.2mil @ RM1.20 (3.04% PUC), COCOLND 2mil @ RM2.45 (1.16% PUC), HWANG 1.8mil @ RM1.80 (13% discount).
 
4) Situational:-
SUNCON +0.80% RM 1.26 - Sunway Construction Group Bhd has secured an RM174.5m contract from Sunway Iskandar Sdn Bhd for the construction of houses in Pulai, Johor Baru. SunCon said the contract was in relation to the main building works for the proposed strata development on Plot F27 to construct 222 units of linked houses, cluster homes and semidetached houses in two phases on part of the land held under PTD 199240 in Pulai.
 
5) MFCB : announced that Don Sahong Power Company Ltd, a 80% owned indirect subsidiary of MFCB had on 15 October 2015 entered into an Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning Contract (EPC Contract) with Sinohydro Corporation Ltd for the development, construction and commissioning of the Don Sahong Hydropower Project over a period of 50 months for the contract sum of approximately USD320 million. Sinohydro Corporation Ltd is a reputable infrastructure construction company established in the People's Republic of China with expertise in a wide range of infrastructure projects including water and hydropower facilities, airports, roads and ports. Currently, it has over 400 international projects under construction in more than 70 countries worldwide with a total contract value of over US$40b. It has successfully constructed many hydropower projects in China, Malaysia, Laos and other parts of the world such as the Three Gorges Hydropower Project in China and the Bakun Hydropower Project in Sarawak, Malaysia; +ve, group had earlier announced that it had entered into a 25-year concession agreement with the Government of the Laos People's Democratic Republic whereby it will be granted the rights to build, operate and transfer the development of a 260MW hydropower plant. The project, which is expected to begin commercial operations in early 2020, will cost about USD500m (RM2.1bn) and is expected to start by the end of this year.
 
6) Market : The underlying trend remains positive with improved foreign participation. The FBMKLCI is likely to continue to trade sideways within 1700-1730 points band.
