earnings boost only expected earliest by 4Q’17 from its RAPID regasification
terminal, coupled with normalization in tax expenses and unfavourable forex
trends, we feel stock is currently fully valued at 3.7x p/bk and 23.6x FY16
PER vs 5-yr average of 3.6x & 22.1x. Technicals appear unattractive
having cut below its 200MA, RSI @ 65 and macd converging downwards. Trim into
strength (buyback at RM20.10 on 21.5x FY16).

Recent
greenlight from BNM allowing MBSB to commence merger talks with Bank Muamalat,
creating the 2nd largest Islamic, is positive as it would allow
MBSB to become a fully-fledged bank hence, improving its competitiveness by
being able to tap into low-cost funds from money markets. This would also
increase MBSB corporate loan exposure translating into significant asset
growth which would boost bottom line by 15-17%. Stock looks attractive having
just surpassed the 23% retracement level (recent hi of RM2.54 – RM1.30 low),
weekly macd cutting up, and cutting above its 200MA. Trades undemandingly at
0.8x p/bk vs 1.9x p/bk 5-yr average; Accumulate. (TP RM1.90 on 0.95x p/bk
FY16).
