1) KLCI played catch up following day off yesterday as index touched a low of 1625.54pts (-6.14pts) on selling of selective blues led by MAXIS, GENTING and SIME. Regional markets were mixed after data showed Europe slipped back into recession while corporate earnings disappointed. Index managed to pare its losses with recoveries seen in DIGI, TM and BAT. Market breadth stayed negative with decliners thumping advancers 395:281. Future closed 1620 (9 pts discount).

4) Situational:
PERISAI+6.66% RM1.12: Perisai Petroleum Teknologi Bhd has received a contract to provide and lease a floating production storage and offloading facility (FPSO) and related operations including maintenance services for Hess Exploration and Production Malaysia BV's development block at the North Malay Basin. The contract was awarded to Larizz Petroleum Services Sdn Bhd in which Perisai has a 40% stake and is valued at US$272.1mil (RM833.3mil) with a potential of an additional US$271.1mil (RM830.24mil) should a full extension be exercised.
 
BJCORP-7.75% RM0.60, SPSETIA-4.50% RM3.40: BJCORP and SPSETIA saw sharp losses after being removed from MSCI Malaysia Index effective 30 Nov 2012.
 
5)Perisai: announced the appointment of KCA Deutag as the drilling operations and maintenance contractor for it's new-build Pacific Class
400 Jack-Up Drilling Rig. Perisai's wholly owned subsidiary Perisai Drilling SB today entered into a Master Service Agreement with Global Tender Barges Drilling SB (a Co within the KCA Deutag group) for the operation & maintenance work which is slated for completion & delivery in July 2014. KCA Deutag is one of the world's leading drilling & engineering contractor, operating more than 100 drilling rigs in over 22 countries & owns a fleet of more than 60 land rigs, 3 jack-ups & 3 self-erect tender barges. KCA has recently been awarded significant offshore & onshore contracts in Europe, Africa, Iraq & Brazil - +ve on appointment. The rig is expected to facilitate Perisai's entry into the offshore drilling segment specifically in Malaysia and broadly in the Asia Pacific region & broaden it's asset offering to it's clients.  
 
6) Mkt: will continue its consolidation as it awaits the results reporting season over the next 2 weeks and signs of progress/compromise in the US fiscal cliff negotiations.
