Accumulate AirAsia for a potential catch-up in performance
vis-Ã -vis its peers as global & Asian airline stocks are on
average + 11% & + 49% ytd while AirAsia is -18% ytd. This is
especially so with more apparent fuel cost savings from 1Q15 onwards given
the lower average hedged fuel cost. The recent divestment of non-core assets
- 25% stake in AAE Travel & the planned sale of a stake in its leasing
arm to realize the value of its fleet of aircraft are also potential
catalysts for re-rating of the stock. Valuation is very supportive at current
level with FY15 & FY16 PER of 7.9x & 7.1x. (TP: RM2.80)

Accumulate on weakness to
position for a 1-yr investment horizon as share px correction has
substantially discounted the negativities of its operating
environment. Recent developments in the O&G industry are prompting
investors to relook at UMWOG with: 1) the announcements of major
O&G players renewing their capex plans in line with higher oil
prices; 2) renowned hedge fund mgr, David Eihorn's recent call for
shorts on US O&G shale stocks (the global crude swing producers) as
their revenues are less than the E&P expd on a DCF basis. This
means bankers may question their feasibility & be
less willing to finance the shale players, hence the higher
crude oil px is sustainable for the medium term with conventional
drilling activities picking up. 31/12/14 order book RM1.8b, tender book
RM5.4b. (TP: RM2.60)
