Despite hiving off their
Hume Cement & Hume Concrete via an IPO of Hume Ind (Narra previously), HL
Ind has reported 3 consecutive strong quarters due to better performance from
its main business divisions, especially its motorcycle division which
benefited from the recent investments to increase factory capacity
& improvements in manufacturing processes - quarterly results showed PBT
+9% fm higher motorcycle sales & lower production costs. HL Ind is
undervalued with annualized FY6/15 PER of 8.8x & dividend yield of 5.9%.

Astino (RM0.865) – a manufacturer & distributor of
metal roof sheets & PVC panels, pdts & other building materials,
Astino benefits from the buoyant construction sector with the govt
reaffirming its RM48.5b development expenditure in its recent revised Budget
2015. The PM’s announcement in Dec’14 to revive 74% of the abandoned housing
projects will also stimulate demand for Astino’s pdts. In addition, the co is
able to take advantage of this additional demand with its new RM55m plant in
Bukit Beruntung which started operations in March’15. Mgt has guided for a
10% increase in sales from this new plant per annum initially. Astino also
has a business division providing environment friendly solutions &
construction of facilities for the modern poultry industry. It is a high
growth industry in Asean & South Asia. Astino is investing RM100m next FY
to expand its business. On annualised earnings, it currently trades at FY15
PER of 9x. However, earnings in the 2nd half is exp to be better
